How awful:

Madison Cawthorn seen on video calling Zelensky a ‘thug’ and Ukraine’s government ‘evil’

Freedom of Speech and Thought is a central American liberal democracy concept. However our representation to the US House of Reprentatives over the past 30 years except for Heath Shuler’s three terms is a case study in what I call disethics; or diseased ethics. I am proud to have played a role in Shuler gaining office and consequently the first female Speaker of the House, US Representative Nancy Pelosi, was possible.

And it is important for voters to get inside the leadership ethics of potential public officers. Asheville city council elections usually feature low turnout driven by just a handful of active citizens. The media shapes the questions only a few ever see. There are also a few endorsements from various advocacy groups that have superficial effect on who gets on council. In large part the elections involve a group of incumbents and former elected officials who work with an often used campaign manager; all combining to pick the favored council candidates.

In 2022 I decided to shake things up with a bigger, deeper platform and suggest the MMHM voter ballot strategy. Also I am suggesting that canidates answering some version of the following questions will be revelatory:

Millin suggested questions for Asheville city council and other candidates for local media and voters

1) Excluding the republic and democratic process aspect of the United States of America, what is American liberal democracy and federalism… and how does Asheville fit in?

2) Concerning the possibility of his political career ending due to his role in the January 6 Insurrection, as he was accused of insurrection as to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, what do you think of Madison Cawthorn using a legal mechanism designed for confederate amnesty in contrast to the NC Attorney General’s findings in these matters?

3a) Cawthorn is clearly a Citizen with a Disability (CwD). It doesn’t appear he ever sponsored or co-sponsored legislation that would improve conditions for CwDs. In fact he is interested in rolling back the Patient Protection and Affordable Cate Act (aka ‘Obamacare’).

CwDs, aka ‘chronically homeless, were 30 percent of the 2021 Asheville-Buncombe Point in Time Count. CwDs are all genders, races, sexual orientations, and creeds.

City of Asheville (COA) makes no mention of CwDs. COA equity strategy omits CwDs in all substantive ways.

How would you improve conditions for Asheville’s CwDs?

3b) At the same time Democrats suck at representing CwDs in most cases. This is prima facie with City of Asheville and Buncombe County Government (BCG). The BCG Department of Health and Human Services does something to serve CwDs, but COA and BCG leadership builds in a capacity to omit CwDs through deliberate indifference.

This commentary from Moe Davis is a case study in the general local ‘flair’ for CwD issues. The fact Cawthorn is a pile of disethics scum is one thing. But pointing at him in terms of fitness for the US Armed Services when he’s clearly physically disabled means Davis is clueless about CwDs.

Also, Cawthorn anti-social behavior, like that of POTUS 45, can be a mental disorder like sociopathy. So we have a lot of CwDs. They are sometimes victims. And can sometimes be perpretrators. But understanding CwDs starts with needing ethical leaders who build in CwD solutions into all policy and strategy. Maybe when addressed early the bad outcomes of disability can be averted with American liberal democracy working with empathy, ethics, and intelligence towards CwD unmet needs. By the way, no one knows how well the Americans with Disabilities Act really works.

Madison Cawthorn can’t meet minimum standards of military 18-year-olds

What makes you different from people in power like Cawthorn when it comes to serving the needs of CwDs and incorporating CwD issues into your platform and current/potential legislative decisions?
